Faith Conquers Fear

Faith Conquers Fear

by Lorenz Alipio

Faith reminds you what God thinks about you: God says you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14). He knew you before you were born. He has hope and a future for you (Jeremiah 29:11).

Faith and fear pull us in opposite directions. Just as this sign shows wear and tear, the battle with fear can exhaust and damage us. But, through faith, God gives us victory!

Are you battling fear right now? Perhaps you are facing fear of judgment, fear of the future, or fear of being alone. These are some of the most common fear-inducing lies of the evil one. Let’s combat them with the truth of God!

Fear of Judgment vs Faith in God’s Love
It’s easy to become preoccupied with what people think of us and worry that we are not good enough. This fear of judgment breeds self-doubt, self-criticism, and self-blame.

Faith reminds you what God thinks about you: God says you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14). He knew you before you were born. He has hope and a future for you (Jeremiah 29:11). When you have faith that the Creator of the Universe loves you, fear of judgment fades away. Your worth is not defined by your actions or possessions. Instead, you are worthy because you’re made in God’s image and called His child (Genesis 1:27, John 3:1).

Fear of the Future vs Faith in God’s Provision
The battle between faith and fear is often fought over the future. When our hope is in a job, relationship, or event happening a certain way, the fear of things not going our way can be crippling. Fear of the unknown can fill us with anxiety andr make us turn to unhealthy distractions to comfort us.

It is good to plan and set goals, but faith calls you to trust the future to God. When you have faith in God’s provision, you know that your future is secure in His hands. For surely, “God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

Fear of Being Alone vs Faith in the Holy Spirit’s Presence
One of the most common fears is being alone. The evil one tries to convince us that we are alone, and God doesn’t care about the details of our lives. Yet, faith reminds us that God is with us always, in our moments of great need as well as in the mundane realities of our lives (Psalm 139:7-8).

God is right beside you, even now! The Holy Spirit is your constant companion, comforter, and counselor. When you need guidance, inspiration, or feel uneasy about what's happening, He's right there to help you (John 14:26-27). His loving, caring presence assures you that you will never be alone (John 14:16, 26, 15:26).

May your faith in God’s love, provision, and presence help you conquer every fear!
