Gods Timing is Always Perfect

Gods Timing is Always Perfect

by Lorenz Alipio

We know that God will work everything together for good for those that trust Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). This doesn’t mean we won’t face challenges, but that God knows how to bring good from even the most terrible moments in life.

Our culture emphasizes punctuality and productivity. We rush to meet deadlines, hurry to make plans, and worry about falling behind. We look at the clock dozens of times a day. Time rules our lives!

But, who rules the time? Well, we are told that to God “a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day” (2 Peter 3:8). God is above time and He knows the perfect timing for everything.

Trusting God frees us from the tyranny of time. We no longer have to rush, hurry, and worry over the time's demands. We know that God will work everything together for good for those that trust Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). This doesn’t mean we won’t face challenges, but that God knows how to bring good from even the most terrible moments in life. For example, maybe our current circumstances are strengthening our character for the next great thing God will bring our way.

Sometimes God’s timing seems slow to us. That’s just because we don’t understand the full story. Thankfully God does! He is all-knowing and all-knowing. He knows what’s best for us.

Waiting on God’s timing isn’t easy. If God has you in a season of waiting right now, trust that He is at work even if you can’t see or hear Him. Think back to your last season of waiting and remember how great it felt when God’s purposes were finally revealed. Let that remembrance build your faith, trust, and reliance on God. And when the waiting gets long, know that God is right there with you, loving and guiding you each step of the way.

When you finally receive what you’re waiting for, you’ll be able to give all the glory to God for His perfect timing. You’ll realize that all of your planning and scheming could never have achieved what God did. This will give you great hope and inspire you to share about God’s goodness, grace, and power with others.

One wonderful example of God’s perfect timing is the story of Lazarus. We usually only focus on the miracle of the resurrection. But why do you think the gospel writers make it clear that Lazarus had been dead for 4 days? Because this timing shows, even more, the extraordinary power of God!

Things are never too late, complicated, or impossible for God! He knows the plans he has for you, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). And when things unfold according to His perfect plans, you’ll be able to give Him all the glory!

So, instead of being consumed by the time on your watch or phone, let your focus be on this clock’s message: Don’t be alarmed! God’s timing is always perfect!
