When you are no longer burdened by sin, you can finally become everything God calls you to be. Just as God freed the Israelites to enter the promised land, his freedom enables you to live out his purposes in your life.

Moses stood at the Red Sea, surrounded by forces outside of his control. The waves churned in front of him. The Israelites trembled beside him. The slave drivers closed in behind him. 

Then he called upon the Lord and one by one the impossible obstacles melted away: The Red Sea parted, the Israelites marched out bravely, and the slave drivers were swept into the sea.

When Moses and the Isrealites reached the other side of the Red Sea, he was a changed man. The Lord had silenced every voice of condemnation and spoken truth to every lie. They were no longer slaves or oppressed. That false identity was washed away. They were free, completely and utterly free. 

Do you know that feeling? Your slave drivers may be called addiction, fear, greed, or lust. Their shackles might not be visible to the eyes, but surely their weight is known to your heart. Yet, the moment you came to faith in Christ, those burdens were swept away. God’s love consumed all of your hurt and pain. You are free!

Now you walk in the freedom of knowing that God’s unfailing love for you will never be shaken nor his covenant of peace be removed (Isaiah 54:10). You live assured that nothing in all of creation will ever be able to separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:39). 

Freedom in Christ is such a precious gift! When you are no longer burdened by sin, you can finally become everything God calls you to be. Just as God freed the Israelites to enter the promised land, his freedom enables you to live out his purposes in your life.

May this powerful piece of art serve as a reminder that God has swept all your sins away. May that joyful realization compel you forward on your journey of faith. May it inspire you to walk in the freedom of the Spirit.
